I found this very popular scent to be a bit hard to grasp. I kept trying to categorize it to give it a shot, as I figured if I could call it, say, "blue" or "fresh citrusy" I might be able to compare it to other fragrances and determine if I simply don't like that style, or if YSL L'Homme itself isn't my cup of tea.
In the end, I don't think I ever really figured it out, and it ended up coming across as a part blue and part citrusy fragrance, and I happen to not really like the super fresh citrus or blue fragrances much at all. Thus, I am not the person to base your purchase off of, though I doubt any of us are. But my guess is that if you aren't too fond of fragrances like Bleu de Chanel, or the summer spritzers as I call them (ie: Versace Pour Homme, Versace Eau Fraiche), then you may not dig YSL's L'Homme either. As always, though, get yourself a decant and try it on your skin for your use case. You might find a gem because many people rave about this one, just as they do the BDC's and Sauvage's of the world. Not my style, but all those people cannot be wrong!
