I initially fell in love with this scent after testing in a local store. It was fresh, sweet, and very attractive. It wasn't until I bought a decant, however, that I truly wore the fragrance for a day and got to learn the nuances of how it interacted with my body chemistry. MYSLF is very popular because it is a best mode type scent, much like YSL's Y EDP. But while Y EDP is more of a classic blue scent with its own twist on the genre, MYSLF leans a lot more floral and even sweet. This set it apart, and initially attracted me to it, at a time when I'd only tested blue scents and The One EDP.
After getting some decants from Decant House and trying fragrances song different lines, I recognized the blue scent profile and that it didn't work for my taste as much as flavors involving more iris, sweet fruits, vanilla, and an overall clean laundry scent. It was only at this time that I realized how strong of a floral and sweet scent MYSLF has and it became too much for my senses over a longer period of time. A few sniffs on the wrist will never tell you what you need to know about a fragrance compared with wearing it on your higher pulse points. I hear that MYSLF is super popular, and can see why, but I believe one would need to be drawn toward strong floral and sweet scents. I prefer fruity sweet to floral sweet, and it's only after trying nearly 30-40 fragrances that I recognized the difference, empowering me to make the best decision as far as which fragrances to purchase full bottles of.
