This reminds me so much of my experience with Mugler Cologne. I read about lemon meringue pie, and imagined this would be a go-to summer scent when I wanted to smell clean, fresh and slightly sweet. This one starts off really nice (unlink Mugler which is bitter all the way through), with the lemon hitting you hard but a bit of sweetened shining through to offer hope of consistency throughout the experience. But upon dry-down, Edition Blanche loses any sweetness, the vanilla is not present, and the vetiver shines through. I missed that this scent had a vetiver base note, which would have clued me in that the dry-down might be quite bitter. Indeed, it is.
Because I detected zero vanilla, this was just a bright, clean and bitter lemon vetiver, much like Mugler Cologne was a bright, clean and bitter green soap. People rave about this one, though, and if you like typical fresh summer scents, you might love this one. Over time, I've realized that I like a little sweetness or fruitiness in my summer fragrances, so this wasn't it for a brotha.
