I have read all of the reviews about how this one doesn't last for very long, has poor sillage, and comes off too boozy. Let me be honest and say that I wish it had stronger projection, as it smells so dang GOOD that I want everyone around me to experience it lol. But it definitely lasts for a good amount of time on my skin (4-5 hours). I know that beast mode fragrances are wildly popular, but I often find that they have very strong synthetic notes in order to achieve incredible longevity and sillage, and I cannot stand strong synthetic notes. Apple Brandy on the Rocks (ABOTR) is strong enough that I constantly smell it on myself, and am perfectly fine with that!
4-5 hours works for me, as despite it being labeled as more of a spring-fall-winter fragrance, I find that it has been performing very well in the humid and hot Texas summer. Thus, I see it as a year-round fragrance that for some reason feels more spring-summer to me, and I don't mind respraying something like this because it is fruity, sweet, and intoxicatingly nice to smell, wile never being the slightest bit offensive. I can smell the apple, pineapple, vanilla, and rum elements, and they blended this to perfection. It may not be the strongest scent, but it smell way too good for me to pass on it. I purchased a bottle after my second wear off the decant.
I love Prada L'Homme and ARMANI CODE, and they project a bit more than ABOTR, but I could not live without this Kilian fragrance. If he ever makes it in a stronger form, that would be nice, but I would rather just respray or overspray, as this version is blended so well and just smells immaculate. I recently tried Parfums de Marly Greenley, also known for it's sweet apple smell, and it was so strong upon very-down and a synthetic mess. The opening was great, but not even close to being as good as ABOTR, while ABOTR maintains its opening scent through the dry-down. It's heavenly! Get yourself a decant and stop fooling around! I never thought I'd spend this much on a bottle, but I fell in love with Apple Brandy on the Rocks and had to pull the trigger. I'll deal with the high cost and potential respraying because I've come across nothing that smells as perfect as this in a fruity, tropical, spring-summer vacation type category.
