I can kind of understand why John Varvatos has filed for bankruptcy now. Trying all of the scents as well as prior trying the titular John Varvatos fragrance, it's pretty obvious why they didn't sell well. Whilst none of the fragrances smell outright bad, they all smell cheap and unbalanced. Artisan Blu is probably my favorite of the bunch because it is the most balanced but it still smells pretty generic nonetheless. Artisan, Pure, and the original JV all have something not quite right about them like in the original JV it combined fresh aromatics, fruit, and almost an aquatic profile with dark leather and oud. If you're curios what these fragrances smell like before they are completely unavailable, well there you go.
